1 Day Jungle Trek - Available from June 2026
A one day trek starts from Ketambe village at about 9 AM. One guide is going with you. First you will walk north for 30 minutes on the road until you turn into the jungle. You continue to walk on trails for about 2 to 3 hours through the paths labyrinth east of the road.
The guide will show and explain plants and insects of the rain forest. The main attraction is to look for and spot orang-utans, gibbons, Thomas Leaf monkeys, macaques and birds. You can check pictures of these animals at our gallery.
About midday you will have a longer lunch break beside the river near campsite C1 (see map on the right or below). For lunch we provide precooked fried rice with vegetables and chicken, drinking water and fruits. After lunch you will have time to relax beside the river and if you like you can go for a bath or swim.
In the afternoon you will walk up and down for about 2 to 3 hours inside the large area of the trail labyrinth. Your aim is to search for and observe animals again.
On a one day tour the chance to see orang-utans is lower than on a multiple day tour. This trek is suitable for everyone, even for kids from 5 years and elder people with lower physical condition.
